Cognor S.A., a leader in special steel production, is constructing a new rolling mill on the site of the former Jedność Steelworks in Siemianowice Śląskie. This approximately PLN 800 million investment is designed to increase steel production and quality, create 300 new jobs, and reduce CO2 emissions.
The new mill will employ the latest technologies such as an electric arc furnace, continuous rolling mill, heat treatment line, and cutting line. It will produce high-quality special steels including spring, bearing, tool, stainless, and heat-resistant steels. Additionally, it is environmentally friendly, powered by electricity and renewable energy from photovoltaic panels. Construction began in August 2023 and is expected to conclude in December 2024.
